Brotherly love

This is just too cute for words...

I am really looking forward to these two playing together. I hope they are best friends...and if they're not, I'll just show them this picture to prove they love eachother.
**No those aren't capris Trevor is wearing. I thought I'd get one last use out of his newborn pants before putting them away. Obviously he's growing well. **

This and that

I can't believe it is 2010 already. The first minutes of the new year were spent sleeping by everyone in our house. We had some friends come over to celebrate with us, but we all decided we'd rather be asleep at midnight, so we watched the ball drop on the east coast, and then called it a night.
Mandi came to visit and meet Trevor for the first time. I am so lucky to have a friend like Mandi. :)

Two of our neighbors also came over. They both have kids within 2 weeks of Cameron's age. Cameron is so sweet. He gave Natalia hugs and even a kiss on the lips. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it. You should have seen Natalia's dad's face. He didn't seem too happy that his little girl was getting kissed at such a young age. :)

Cameron also played with his buddy Jake. They both sat in Cameron's new wagon, and even though both Brian and Jake's dad were within a few feet of them, neither of them saw the boys digging in a nearby plant. They were trying to fill their wagon with dirt. I guess boys will be boys. We sure are going to miss them when they move back to Florida in a couple of weeks.

On New Year's Day, we didn't do too much. We did, however, go to Freebirds for dinner. Yum.

I made a New Year's resolution. I have 4 pounds left to lose to get back to where I was when I got pregnant with Trevor. I'd like to lose another 10-20 pounds on top of that. We joined a gym so hopefully that goal will be attainable.

I am going to start back at work this week. I will only be working a few hours a couple days a week to start. Part of me is looking forward to getting back into a routine, but part of me is going to miss all the time I've gotten to spend with the boys.

Christmas Part 3

On Sunday, we got together with Brian's side of the family to celebrate Christmas with them. You might recognize the outfits the boys are wearing from previous posts, but I figure Christmas doesn't come around but once a year so I need to get as much use out of those outfits as possible. The pacifier Trevor is sucking on is a gift from Brian's aunt and uncle in Michigan. I guess if Cameron used an aTm pacifier, Trevor can use a Michigan one.

Cameron loves his new remote control car that Aunt Jaime and Uncle Robby got for him (although he has to fight Brian for playing time).

He's so silly!

Cousin Kylie helped him open his presents.

Nana got to spend some one-on-one time with Trevor. He took a good nap in her arms.

It's amazing how fast Christmas came and went this year. I'm already looking forward to next Christmas. I think Cameron will have a better understanding of what is going on, and Trevor will be able to open his own presents.

Christmas Part 2

On Christmas Eve, we went to the children's mass at church. I used to love going to Christmas Eve mass when I was a kid. It was possibly the only time of the year when I actually looked forward to going to church. I was excited to share that with Cameron and Trevor (although Trevor slept through most of the mass).

Doesn't Cameron look so handsome in his Christmas outfit?

Brian's pretty handsome too...

On Christmas morning we opened presents. Cameron really got into it. He wanted to help open everyone's presents. He liked all of his presents, but he especially enjoyed his new wagon, toy cleaning tools (vacuum, broom, etc.) and the toy that plays all the noises that farm animals make.

Trevor had a couple of different "Baby's first Christmas" outfits to try out.

I think I gave birth to the most adorable Santa ever. I'm kinda sad that Christmas is only one day a year, and he won't be able to wear this again.

This Christmas was definitely a memorable (albeit hectic) one. I can't wait until next year when Cameron and Trevor and all of their cousins will be tearing into the presents.

Christmas Part 1 - cousins

Christmas was slightly chaotic this year due to the fact that there were three babies born the latter half of the year (who are all on different eating/sleeping schedules) and a toddler, as well as eight adults all under one roof. It was exciting though to have all four cousins together for the first time.

On Wednesday we went to lunch at Rosa's. Trevor and Aspen slept through most of the meal.

They then spent some time playing together.

On Christmas morning, Papa enjoyed some time with all four of his grandchildren.

In case you can't tell, those aren't Siamese triplets on that chair.

Later on that day, all three of us relaxed with our babies. It's hard to believe that we all are grown, married, and have children of our own. It seems like just yesterday we were playing in that very same room that this picture was taken, dividing up all our books and writing our names in them, a memory which was rekindled when those books were pulled off the shelf and read to Cameron. It was nostalgic to see some of my favorite childhood books after 20+ years.

Time sure does fly. I look forward to Trevor reaching new milestones, but I need to savor this time because he'll be grown up before I know it.

First Hockey Game

While we were visiting my parents last week, we went to a minor league hockey game. It was both Cameron's and Trevor's first hockey game. We started off the evening by going to dinner at a place that brings a big block of Wisconsin cheddar and bread to your table. What better way to start off a meal?!

Since Trevor was born, it has been a little more difficult to have "guests" in our vehicle. When there is more than one passenger, things get a little tight. My mom spent most of our driving trips wedged in the middle row between the two carseats. For this occasion though, both Mom and Dad sat in the third row...which they had to get to by crawling in through the trunk area. It was quite amusing watching them get situated.

Cameron wasn't too sure what to think about hockey at first. Some idiot with a blow horn several rows behind us scared him a little with his incessant blowing of the horn. Not to mention we were sitting in the "rowdy" section. I'm not sure if it was my maternal tendencies or what, but some of the fans' language was a little more obscene than I would have liked for my children to have heard.

Why do those people keep yelling mean things at the other team?

Trevor slept through a good portion of the game, but once he did wake up, he was content in his Nanny's arms.

Cameron got to pose with Slap Jack, the jackelope. I thought he was a little scary looking, but Cameron liked him.

We left before the 3rd period started since we were all a little tired, but I would say Cameron's and Trevor's first hockey experience went well.

The Gaylord Texan

First let me just preface this post by saying that I am way behind on blogging. We were visiting my parents for the last week, and I didn't have much chance to get to a computer. I'm going to keep my blogs chronological, so it will probably be a while before I post about Christmas.

The week before Christmas my parents came to visit and to watch Cameron's school program (see previous post). While they were here, we went to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. They always decorate for Christmas, which provided many great photo opportunities. Cameron also really enjoyed all the model trains and the fish.

Two guys had won a bunch of stuffed animals and gave a stuffed Santa to Cameron.

Update

If you read the post below, you were probably wondering why I posted that video. The answer is that I posted the wrong one. I fixed it so go back and watch the correct one.

Today I had my follow up appointment with my doctor. Afterwards I went by Trevor's doctor's office since it is in the same building and had them weigh him. He weighs a whopping 11 pounds 2 ounces. He's gained nearly 2.5 pounds in 3 weeks. He is growing like a weed.

I think he is going through a growth spurt because he has been waking up more at night. He's been going to sleep around 10:00, waking up around 1:30 and then again around 5:00. Luckily he's been eating and then going right back to sleep. We had a couple of nights where he woke back up at 6:00 and was unhappy until 7:00. Last night though, he slept until 8:15, and even then, we had to wake him up. Hopefully that will continue and soon he'll be sleeping through the night.

Jingle Bells

This week was Cameron's last week of school before the new year. They had a Christmas program where each class performed a song. Cameron's class consists of kids who are about 14 months to 21 months so there wasn't a lot (or any) singing going on. They did, however, put on the cutest rendition of Jingle Bells I have ever heard. I had tears in my eyes I was so proud.

They performed twice - once on Monday and once today. I went with Brian on Monday (when I recorded this video), and then I went with my parents, who drove in from out of town, today. Cameron decided he didn't want to ring his bell today. In fact, only one girl in the whole class actually rang the bells today. Nobody cried, though, so I guess it was pretty successful.

Taking it all in

Lately Trevor has spent more time awake, with his eyes open. I wasn't sure what color his eyes were until recently.

He spent some time this past weekend taking in his surroundings.
